The mission of Calvary United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by loving and serving all of God’s people, cultivating faithful living, and celebrating God’s presence and grace.

Calvary has deep roots in Frederick beginning in 1770 when the Methodist circuit riders traveled through and gathered together a small group which grew across the years and is today Calvary United Methodist Church, one of the oldest United Methodist Churches in the U.S. with continuous service. We build on that rich heritage, serving the Frederick community and God's world beyond.

Our mission at Calvary is to be a nurturing and supportive community of Christian faith, which shares its love of God by reaching out to those in need with our spiritual and physical resources. As we proclaim the word of God and witness God's presence and power, we will grow as disciples of Jesus Christ and respond to God's call. We will live life in service, gratitude, and celebration.

To accomplish our mission, Calvary offers a multitude of opportunities for worship, study, fellowship, and service to persons of all ages. We see God at work in our midst. As faithful followers, our lives are transformed and disciples are made.
